BrightCloud Content Classification Service
The BrightCloud Content Classification Service categorizes URLs by content, including security categories. There are some 70 categories, a list of which can be found here. A URL can be in multiple categories, which enables flexible and accurate policy implementation– for example access to news websites with streaming media can be allowed, with other streaming media websites being blocked.
BrightCloud utilizes a combination of human review and machine learning technology, combined with robust crawling capabilities, to categorize websites. BrightCloud has over 250 million websites and associated IP addresses categorized, and continually revisits and updates the information on those websites.
