Practical Url Parser (PUP)
PUP
The Practical URL Processor (PUP), is a simple, easy to use Windows application for retrieving category and reputation information using BrightCloud web services.
PUP returns the category of the URL and its BrightCloud Reputation Index.
To use PUP you need an account with BrightCloud Web Services and an application key/secret. Create a new account or login to your existing account.
Once you have an account and your application key/secret, return to this page to start using PUP.
- Download PUP to a Windows PC.
- Create a plain text file of urls, one per line. PUP will process the urls and tell you their category and reputation score.
- Run BCWS_PUP-E.exe by double clicking on it.
- Enter the application key/secret you created using your BrightCloud Web Services account and agree to the BCWS EULA. Then click the OK button.

- Select your input file of urls of your own or download a sample list of URLs. Select a location and file for your output.

- Click the "Process URLs button to begin processing your URLs using BrightCloud Web Services.
- When file processing is complete click the "Reports" button to see aggregate statistics for your URLs, or open your output file to see individual categories and reputation scores.
